Please Don’t Just Take My (Or My Mom’s) Word For It ….

Working with Bryan over the years has been nothing short of incredible. I believe I am a better CEO, friend, ex-husband and father because of our continued and consistent work together. My experiences with him are as rich as they are diverse. Bryan has always shown up as a gentle reminder of my potential, my potential for that moment, that event or that board meeting. He is a patient listener, a thoughtful communicator, a clear mirror and always seems to meet me exactly where I am at.

The way he holds space and listens is extraordinary. He doesn’t listen looking for opportunities to respond, he listens so you can be heard … often times that is all that’s required. He is a master at mirroring and every conversation ends with a sense of closure, direction and actionable steps to help progress whatever conversation you are in. I have worked with several amazing coaches over the years and for me there have been none better than my experience with Bryan.

It’s hard to sum up a review for Bryan in one small paragraph or two. He meets you right where you are...no judgements, but rather—gives you the floor to express your thoughts or situation with safety and that soothing REALNESS layered with humor.

If you are looking for legit real shifts in your perspective (seriously. . .get ready!) Bryan plants the seeds and sees right through to your “higher self”— you know...the inner self that’s pushing you to find him in the first place— I think that is who he is really meeting with each time.

Below is a text I sent Bryan shortly after making a big shift of my own: ‘BTW our talk shifted my perspective overnight of course it did. I was resisting HARD then days later we were on a new path! You got that special something like a chia seed. You get all these seeds in one scoop and you ain’t too sure what they will do..but you know it’s healthy.’

I was reluctant to hire a coach. It seemed like an extravagance. I mean, who really needs someone to coach them through the transitions and hurdles of life? Isn’t that what friends and family are for? I teach coaches, and so ought to be able to play that role for myself, right? Wrong! It turns out that I very much needed a coach, and not just anyone would do. I am a scientist and tend to be rather skeptical and critical. Bryan has, in fact, earned my trust and become my consigliere (I had to look this word up, and although I cannot possibly imagine this kind man being involved with the Mafia, it really does fit the role he plays in my life). The bit about clarity and velocity? It is true. Beginning with our initial session, Bryan helped me to perceive my situation with greater clarity, and use that energy to generate momentum. His continued input has been instrumental in my achieving escape velocity, and I am now speeding toward my goals at what often feels like warp speed. Ok, enough of that metaphor.... In short, you will not find a more trustworthy, insightful, and skillful coach out there. If you are wondering whether you might benefit from coaching by Bryan, the answer is “yes!” Do it.

Bryan Yates is the best coach I have ever worked with. He is so gifted at creating a safe, comfortable environment for others to share and grow. He keeps others accountable by practicing what he preaches. He also has a way of connecting like-minded people to one another, facilitating continued growth outside of working with him. He leads by setting an example through his own life and actions. I have been so lucky to experience how powerful it is to be around someone who wants to make the world a better place and does this through helping others live healthier, more authentic lives.

Bryan Yates enrolls people in their own personal goals and mission statement. He gets people to commit to what they’re already committed to.

Bryan possesses an extraordinarily high level of emotional intelligence that is combined with an ability to understand and identify with someone’s personal, professional, or fitness related .
Bryan’s style is a gentle touch of professionalism combined with genuine concern and a desire to help. He quickly understands your context and details in a way that bridges a trusting connection and customized attainable goals. I have found this to help motivate me to do hard work on myself and how I interact with others.

In my case, Bryan has helped me sort professional and personal struggles. He has helped me see and understand how they are far more connected than I realized . This has been very effective and positively changed how I interact with both my business partners, teams and close friends.

My work with Bryan has been incredibly valuable and has helped me to grow in many ways. Being his calm presence Bryan created a safe and supportive space for me to be honest with myself and with him. Bryan has been able to help me confront my insecurities and find ways to navigate the challenges I face as a doer who hates wasting time. It’s clear that I have gained a deeper understanding of myself and my strengths and weaknesses through your work with Bryan. I have learned to view to view speedbumps as a chance to stop, reflect and adjust my route and speed. I will for sure continue to work with Bryan on my journey of personal development. My highest recommendations to Bryan as coach.

I was at a crossroads that I couldn’t even fully see. I was feeling foggy and spun around. Things were stuck. For 12 weeks, Bryan worked with me one on one, in person and virtually. He gave me personalized feedback over text to help guide my motivations and decision making. He listened closely, validated my feelings, and helped me clarify my thinking. Today, I’m re-starting an old business with fresh eyes and momentous direction.

This might seem like an odd quote, but it is my favorite from BY. Get out of the crockpot and go be of service. Just because you can’t ride your bike, doesn’t mean you can’t change your scenery It is the kind of nudge that only Bryan can give. The nudge that gets you to do something unexpected and uncomfortable. It is the nudge that sets your life on a different path. The one that you were meant to walk. At least, that’s what it did for me. BY isn’t average. He is honest and genuine. His humanness shines through in everything that he does. He is the person you need in your life that you never knew you needed. He has a knack for pulling people out of their comfort zone with magical ease. His genuine heart and snarky Bryanisms will leave you always wanting more. More for yourself. More challenges. Exponential growth and curiosity. Coaching with Bryan is life changing in a way that you don’t expect. In a way that stays with you and becomes a part of you.

When Bryan Yates says, ‘Relax, it’s only a hill.’ take a deep breath and run up the hill. Bryan’s coaching turned me into an athlete. The words he put in my head sent me to the podium of numerous 5, 10, 20, 30 and 50k races, both trail and street. He gave me the confidence to start teaching fitness classes again, something I hadn’t done for many years. And all of that combined lead me to join a search and rescue team, the thing I am the most proud of. So, when Bryan tells you, ‘Relax, it’s only a hill.’ take a deep breath, run up it, and soar.
